INFORMATION WANTS TO BE FREE

From one monk making a life’s work of creating one book, through Gutenberg whose movable-type technology continues to spread knowledge to the masses some 575 years later, up to the Internet with its unlimited space, voracious appetite for content, and digital distribution -- the trend throughout history has been toward the free flow of info.

The Web is rendering information less and less expensive by the day. And that’s exactly as it should be.

Because not only does information want to be free, we all want it to be free too. Content is meant to be shared. Writers write to be read; photographers shoot to show. And, of course, the more people who benefit from information the better.

So, here at AccessEcuador, we’re giving away the information to empower expatriates; our hope is that it helps you leave your homeland and live out your international dreams. As such, this site provides enough practical, accurate, and insightful information on expatriating for anyone to do it. And if you’re reading this, that can be you. It's all here. And it's all free.

At first, anyway.

Because providing the content is anything but free; it requires a major investment in tech and time and talent.

All content on AccessEcuador is free when it first appears. Catch it while it you can. After a suitable time period, some of it -- breaking news in Ecuador, Cuenca, and on this site; information such as Reports from Resorts that's expensive to research; and juicy stuff, such as the climax of an adventure or the conclusion of a personal story --
will dead-end suddenly at the Join button.

But if you’re that deep into the content -- hell, if you're reading this -- you're probably already a Member and all you have to do is make it official by forking over the small fee, 10 cents a day, $36.50 per year.

Here’s what you get:

• Access to the AccessEcuador Member-only archives: all the latest, juiciest, and most valuable stuff
• 12 full months of it
• Access to the Member-only forums, a built-in Xpadorian community
• Direct email access to us
• Discounts at Cuenca and Ecuador service providers looking for our patronage
• Invites to whatever Member-only events we dream up
• Member-side surprises
• And, of course, support for our work

You’re also grandfathered in at $36.50 for as long as you remain a Member. That’s the fee for the first 100 members only, the Charter members. After that, it goes up to 15 cents a day: $54.75.

We don’t auto-renew; we don’t believe in it. We’ll send you a renewal notice, but we hope you’re getting your money’s worth and will fork over another $36.50. If not, we don’t think it’s right to remind you via a charge on your credit-card bill.

Your Membership is unconditionally guaranteed. If, any time, you're not 100% satisfied with AccessEcuador, contact us for a full refund.

Bottom line: Not only does information want to be free, but people do too. Indeed, everything with a soul yearns and strives for freedom. Whether you join or not, if AccessEcuador helps empower your pursuit of it, we'll have succeeded.
